According the National Association of Realtors, 71% of home owners (that's 3 out of 4 owners) are saying that it's a great time to sell and yet there is a shortage of homes in today's market. And yet, the pace of the market is slowing down. What does this mean? The appreciation of homes in La Crosse County and surrounding areas have come to a slow crawl. Most often sellers are not getting over asking price and days on market are increasing. The fed is stating that they WILL BE raising rates in December.
So is this a bad time to sell and/or buy? Absolutely NOT! It is still a great time to sell and buy!
If you are on the on the fence about selling, pull the trigger NOW before it's too late! There are plenty of buyers out there and because of the threat of a rate increase in the not too distant future, buyers are looking and purchasing. Lenders have seen an uptick of buyer's getting pre approved. In La Crosse, WI and surrounding areas, the later it gets into fall and early winter, the less competition there is for sellers. This is because sellers mindset and even some of the real estate agents think that homes do not sell in the winter months. What does this mean for you as a seller? It means even more buyers will flock to your home and the chances are even greater that you may get it sold quicker and for more money.
In this market as a buyer, you will certainly want to find your home before the rate increase. Because we know that when the rate increases, your affordability on a new home gets to be less and you may end up with a lesser valued home that what you would like.
